What Time Is It?

The two hands

Short (red) hand → shows the hour

Long (teal) hand → shows the minutes

O'clock

Long hand points straight UP (12) → say "o'clock"
Example: 3:00 → "three o'clock"

Half past & quarter

Long hand at 6 = half past (30 min)
Long hand at 3 = quarter past (15 min)
Long hand at 9 = quarter to (45 min)

Past & to

1–30 minutes → "past": "ten past two"
31–59 minutes → "to": "twenty to five"
